THE BPCR MATCH THAT ALMOST WASN’T!
Oklahoma weather being what it is, (snowed all day at my house last
Friday) the match director for the Oklahoma City Gun Club BPCR Match
cancelled the match scheduled for 4/8/07. However, several wise,
intrepid, brave, visionary, insightful, handsome, talented, heathenistic,
(It was after all, Easter Sunday) shooters chose to exercise their
rights to hold a match for the good of all mankind (or womankind if they
had shown up).
The weather was so moderate we even had several spectators show up to offer advise and wisdom to the aforementioned wise, brave, etc…shooters participating in the match.
Match results are as follows:
| Match Winner: | Al Shackleford | 25 |
| First Master: | Dan Zimmerman | 21 |
| First AAA: | Don Faulkenberry | 20 |
Lest you Philistines out there are thinking, I can shoot better than that…All three of the wise, brave, etc…shooters were trying new barrels, moulds, calibers, and guns for the upcoming season…so there! Oh, by the way, the mentioned Oklahoma weather had a bit to do with the scores posted.
And for those of you choosing to not attend the Match That Wasn’t…ya’ll missed out on a World Class Chocolate Fudge Cream pie. If ya don’t believe me, ask the rest of the shooters. (Al had two (2) pieces all on his own).
And, just as an aside, several of the spectators mentioned taking up a collection to furnish kerosene rags for the ankles of the regular Match Director for future inclement weather episodes. (since this is a family publication ask me later and I’ll tell you what the kerosene is for).
Hope to see all ya’ll at the next match!
Long live the brave and the cold..Al, Don, Dan.
