The shooters at the June Prairie Dog Match were greeted by some of the most beautiful weather mother nature can provide this time of year.
We once again shot the unlimited guns first for a hopefully big score and to let the light gather later for the hunter iron sight class.

And last but not least, dad-blamed Prairie Dog Eggs must have been too large!
Three, count ‘em, Three shooters were successful in hitting the egg and splitting the ice-cream money:
Jim Bishop, Si Fentress, and Whitie Blanshan. And they did it with absolutely no whining. The eggs will definitely be smaller next month.
Thanks to all the shooters supporting the match and thanks to the spectators for their timely comments and suggestions. Possibly they might even shoot in next month’s match? The suggestion was made to shoot the hunter iron class without benefit of sighter shots. The rational being that one does not get sighter shots at game (unless the turkey is beyond dumb). Sounds like a good idea to me. Lets try shooting both Hunter class guns, scope and iron at next month’s match without sighter shots and see how well we can perform when it really counts….well at paper anyway. Who knows, it might be of benefit next deer season.
