Everybody has a modern or vintage military type rifle!!

If you are looking for a fun way to increase your proficiency in the field with most any modern or vintage military rifle, our newest “Games Match” may be what you’re looking for. The OKCGC Highpower Division runs GSM (Garand, Springfield, Modern Military) Matches monthly, March through November. The Civilian Marksmanship Program came up with this match as a training opportunity and it is a qualification course for the purchase of surplus rifles, pistols and ammunition directly from the CMP.

You say you don’t know what you’re doing? PERFECT!! This is as much an opportunity to train with some very competent riflemen as it is a friendly competition. There will be a 15-minute orientation and training period before the match leading into the firing of sighting shots. You will be assigned a CMP Highpower classified “coach” to help you through the orientation and course of fire unless you don’t want assistance.

Registration will begin at 8:00 at the Main Clubhouse and the matches start at 9:00. The match fee is $10 to help us cover targets and supplies. The matches are open to members and nonmembers alike so please spread the word. If a kid is big enough to hold up a rifle, he or she is welcome too!

See the match program on our web site for more information.
