Location & Directions to the Range: The match will take place at the Muzzle Loader Range #1 (east side of the gun club facility). The OKC Gun Club is located north of the town of Arcadia, east of Edmond OK. From I-35, take Exit 141, which is the old route 66, eastbound. Arcadia is approximately 7 miles. One mile past Arcadia is a left turn for Hiwassee Road. Proceed north on Hiwassee Rd for approximately 3.5 miles to the entrance, on the left, for the Cowboy Action and Muzzle Loader ranges just beyond the Sorghum Mill/234th Street.

Competition open to: Any eligible competitor 10 years of age or older. You need not be a member of the NRA, CMP or the OKC Gun Club.

Entry Fee:  (Payable at check-in, cash or check)
     $15 for non OKC Gun Club members
     $10 for club members and each guests. (two guests or immediate family)
     $3 for U18 Juniors. (Under 18yo at registration)

Registration period: 0830 - 1000hrs, morning of

Firing Starts: 0900hrs

Rules: Match is governed by CMP Games Rifle and Competition Rules book, 2023 10th Ed., and the CMP Guide to Rimfire Sporter Shooting.

Competitors are encouraged to review the rule book with respect to restrictions on firearms (ie weight, trigger pull, scope power), other equipment (slings, kneeling rolls, mats, gloves, boots, jackets), and individual coaching. The Rimfire Sporter match is for competitors who fire .22 caliber rifles that comply with Rimfire Sporter Rules. Rimfire rifles may have a scope (T-Class) (max. 6x, variables are taped at 6X) or open sights (O-Class), and Tactical Unlimited (TU Class) Rimfire Rifles. Don’t fret, there is a firearms category for competitors who wish to use their favorite .22 rifle that doesn’t fall within the CMP Sporter Rifle restrictions. This special Class, OIC, will not earn awards.

Ammunition will NOT be issued by club officials; competitors must bring their own ammo.

Course of Fire:

The course of fire for the Rimfire Sporter Match is given below. All firing is at 50 and 25 yards on the CMP Rimfire Sporter Targets.

Sighting—Unlimited sighters in any position in 10 minutes.
Stage 1—10 shots prone slow fire, 10 minutes.
Stage 2—Two five-shot prone rapid-fire series (from standing), each in 25 (semi- auto rifles) or 30 (manually operated rifles) seconds.
Stage 3—10 shots sitting or kneeling slow fire, 10 minutes.
Stage 4— Two five-shot sitting or kneeling rapid-fire series (from standing), each in 25 (semi-auto) or 30 (manually operated) seconds.
Stage 5—10 shots standing slow fire in 10 minutes, from 25 yards.
Stage 6 — Two five-shot standing rapid-fire series, each in 25 (semi-auto) of 30 (manually operated) seconds, from 25 yards.

Competitors and scorers may use spotting scope.

All competitors, range personnel, and observers are required to bring their own personal hearing and eye protection and are required to wear them whenever shooting takes place.

All competitors are required to check in with the competition staff at the registration table prior to firing. Competitor packets with scorecards will be issued at the time of check-in.


How to Enter: All competitors are urged to pre-register, however, walk-on entries will be accepted to the capacity of the range and relays.

To pre-register simply e-mail the Match Director (MD). Include your name, date of birth, mailing address, CMP competitor number (if you have one). Look for an acknowledgement e-mail within 24hours. If none received then text registration information to the MD’s phone number.

Awards: CMP Achievement Award pins may be presented in accordance with CMP Competition Rules.
